i feel so blessed that by guru ji's kirpa, when bhai avtar singh ji came here to surrey, i had the chance to listen to their keertan. i had the opportunity to listen to their keertan at gurdwara singh sabha two or three times, and gurdwara sahib dasmesh darbar one time. every time, their keertan was absolutely amazing and i felt so inspired and blessed to be in the sangat enjoying the mystical experience of divine gurbani. whatever keertanis bring out in keertan darbars, from their heart of hearts, from the depths of their soul, that is but a small droplet of the ocean that is gurbani. gurbani is an infinitely wide and deep ocean, filled with the truth and bliss. and those gursikhs who do this seva, of sharing this ocean with the world, but never in ego, never for profits, never for recognition - only for pyar - they are the truly great souls. bhai avtar singh ji, bhai jasbir singh ji (khannewale) - these great souls were legends of modern day keertan. although their styles were different, they both had the same deep longing for akaal purakh, and they both left this world leaving countless others so inspired. dhan dhan guru pyare, dhan dhan guru ke sikh.
