Beyond Squamish: Women & Culture

All women are invited to attend the Howe Sound Women’s Centre Society’s annual general meeting on Wednesday (Sept. 21) at the Squamish Public Library. It begins with a potluck dinner at 5 p.m., followed by the AGM at 6:30 p.m. and guest speakers at 7:30 p.m. The theme is Beyond Squamish: Women & Culture. The moderator, Theodora Carroll, is the author of Women, Religion & Development. Guest speakers include Zia Afsar on Sharia law, Nina Biln on Sikh and Hindu religions and Carol Harry will speak on First Nations customs and spirituality.
