Songs of the Soul Concert - June 24
June 21st, 2006 by admin
June 24th, 2006 at 8 pm.
St. Andrew’s-Wesley Church
1022 Nelson St (at Burrard in downtown Vancouver)
Doors open at 7 pm
Featuring:
The Universal Gospel Choir
Sikh Kirtan with Neetu and Sunny Matharu (Vishwa)
Jewish Chants with Lorne Mallin and Friends
Aboriginal Drumming with Aline La Flamme (Daughters of the Drum)
The concert aims to provide a venue at which attendees can savour the musical sounds and participate in the music traditions of various faiths.
Seeking to celebrate the values we hold in common, we hope that all who attend find that the faith we each espouse is enriched by interaction with those of other beliefs and traditions.
We also wish to provide an opportunity for delegates from the North American Interfaith Network (NAIN) and the World Peace Forum to interact and connect with the general public.
This free concert is possible because of the very generous donations by Canadian Singh Sabha Gurdwara Society , a Sikh Gurdwara located in Surrey, and Vinning & Sons Construction Ltd .
