February 8th, 2006 by adminThis weeks events include…
1. GATKA practice is on TUESDAY FEB. 7th at 5pm in GAGE.
2. There will be REHRAAS on WEDNESDAY FEB. 8th at 6:30pm in GAGE.
3. DISCUSSION this week is on THURSDAY FEB. 9th at 1pm in GAGE.
SFU will be holding its annual Sikh Youth Conference this February 18th, 2006. The goal if this years conference is to look at the Causes and Effects of Sikh Nationalism of the 1980s. This turbulent decade has left a legacy in Sikh identity world wide, it is the goal of this conference to look at why. More importantly, it is our goal to understand the roots of the events and ideas that characterized the Sikh national movement.
The Sikh Students Association of SFU invites everyone to attend. This conference will be especially useful for those who are not familiar with Sikhism or Sikh history. We have two world renown speakers lined up, SFU’s own Hugh Johnston and Order of Canada laureate T. Sher Singh. The Conference proves to be an exciting event, and hope that you can make it.
