Just more than a month after the tragic arson at Gurdwara Western Singh Sabha in Williams Lake the Sangat performed the Sanskaar seva for the burnt Guru Granth Sahib Bir.

Since the last time we were here, the Gurdwara has erected a more permanent temporary structure to hold its diwaans.

The Akhand Paath was actually done inside the Gurdwara Building, this was the entrance to the Gurdwara from downstairs. New walls were put up and painted for this small narrow room.

Punj Pyare brought the Guru Granth Sahib Bir for the Seva from Gian Singh Sandhu’s home, where it had been since the Fire.

After the Akhand Paath bhog, the Sangat gathered outside for the Sanskaar Seva. Singh Sahib Giani Gurbachan Singh the Head Granthi from Sri Harmandir Sahib, Amritsar lead the Seva.

Quite a bit of Sangat from around Northern BC as well as the Greater Vancouver area had arrived for the Sanskaar Seva. The amount of Sangat living in towns like Williams Lake seems to have decreased over the last few years.

The seva took about half an hour to 45 mins, and was followed by Kirtan, Katha, Dhadi and some speeches.
