Peace Vigil for Lebanon and Israel - SUNDAY August 6th
August 5th, 2006 by admin
PEACE VIGIL FOR LEBANON AND ISRAEL
Sunday August 6th
8:00-9:30 pm
at the sculpture in Vanier Park
in case of rain at the covered concession area in Kitsilano Beach
At a time of so much needless suffering, many of us yearn to gather jointly to express our pain and our prayers and hope for shalom-salaam-peace-wholeness in the Middle East. We encourage people of all faiths, cultures and beliefs to attend.
We will gather at 8:00 pm on Sunday, Aug. 6th, at the Gate to the Northwest Passage sculpture at Vanier Park (between the Maritime Museum and the Planetarium) to quietly chant, pray and sit peacefully together. Candles will be provided. Bring something to sit on and to keep warm.
The vigil will be sponsored by The InterSpiritual Centre and by Ahavat Olam Synagogue.
