New Accomplishments at the Sikh Youth Commission

Roop Singh Sikh Youth Commission are very proud to inform the sangat about the official launch of the very first volume of the Inspiration CD series, which occurred on November 10, 2006 at the Spinning Wheel Film Festival in Florida. The first CD is entitled “Volume 1: Bedtime Stories told by Roop Singh.”

Bhai Roop Singh recorded this CD during his August Tour in the Washington D.C. area, when he went into a recording studio and recorded two of his signature mythological stories and the Mool Mantar. Both stories are centered on the theme “Where is God?” He explains this very complicated theme at the cognitive level of children, so they can easily understand it. What makes these stories different is that he uses the art of storytelling to grab the listener’s attention and simultaneously, drop a gem of Gurmat wisdom. By telling the stories in this manner, the story stays with the listener for the rest of their lives.

The Sikh Youth Commission produced this product in an effort to help parents plant the seed of Sikhi in their households. Although parents are not always gifted in the art of telling stories, this CD allows them to leave it to Bhai Roop Singh to tell their children these stories every night. He is just not any storyteller; he been telling stories for 22 years all over the UK in schools, libraries, universities, and Gurdwaras (Sikh place of worship).

Sikh Youth Commission are very thankful to Bhai Roop Singh for generously donating his time, allowing us to use his original stories to inspire generations to come, and giving all proceeds to the Sikh Youth Commission. For more information on the Sikh Youth Commission and/or contact information to book Bhai Roop Singh, please go to www.SikhYouth.info.

To allow the CD to be affordable to all sangat members, when purchased from the organization, we are selling them for only $6. All of the proceeds will be used to create more youth educational products, as well as to continue the operations for the organization.

The Sikh youth commission is very proud to have a full-time position opening for an Operations Manager. This individual will look over all of the different aspects of the commission’s work, including the formation of Sikh youth groups in the United States and Canada. As part of the position, the individual will need to be able to fly around the United States and Canada. For the full job description, please go to the Careers page on www.SikhYouth.info.
