A MUGGER who tried to rob a man at knifepoint outside a Sikh temple was talked into giving himself up by his victim.
A 60-year-old man from Southall had gone to pray at the Sri Guru Singh Sabha Gurdwarra in Havelock Road at 2.45am on Wednesday, August 2, when he was approached by a teenager who demanded his car keys.
When he refused to hand them over he was allegedly punched in the chest before the youth pulled out a kitchen knife and began threatening him with it.
continued…
The man was so angry at being attacked outside a place of worship he tried to grab the knife and was cut on the finger.
After scolding the teenager for his behaviour, the man ordered him to put the knife away because they were in a religious area.
The youth did as he was told and was eventually led into the Gudwarra where he was detained and the police called.
