English Katha of Gurmat & Gurbani
May 1st, 2006 by adminVaheguru ji ka khalsa,
Vaheguru ji ki fatheh!
English Katha of Gurmat & Gurbani is the discourse, or interpretation, of Guru ji’s teachings and the stories from Sikh history presented verbally in the English language by a kathavachak (ka-thhaah-vaa-chakk), or spiritual discourse speaker, to the sangat.
——————————————–
What is the best type of Katha?
The best type of English Katha is Shabad Viakhya (vi-aakh-iyaa) or literal interpretations of specific shabads in Gurbani, which gives deeper understanding on a spiritual level of the Guru’s teachings so that we can aim our life in the right direction and work towards spiritual union with the One Creator, Akaal Purakh Vaaheguru. It is always beneficial to listen to the Sikh war songs, Dhaadi Vaars, poems, etc., but it is extremely important to listen to shabad viakhya of Gurbani.
