On this day (August 11) in 1635 Sain Mia Mir passed away at Lahore.

The Sikh youth of BC should appreciate and revere such holy saints who not only showed love for our Guru Sahib and their teachings, but was also much respected by the Sikh community which is evidenced in the fact that Sain Mian Mir jee must have been such an amazing personality that Guru Sahib asked him to lay the foundation stone of Sri Harimandir Sahib.

Sain Mian Mir jee was an exemplary and accomplished saint who was a close associate of Guru Arjun Dev Sahib and Guru Har Gobind Sahib. Sain Mia Mir witnessed the torture of Guru Arjan Patshah at the hand of Mughal rulers of the time. 

He was born in 1550 at Seesthan but lived in Lahore for most part of his life. He died on 11 August 1635 in Lahore. His grave is in Hashimpur near Lahore. His famous disciple MullahShah was the Peer for Shahjada Darashikoh.
