Respect for Guru Granth Sahib Ji
October 4th, 2005 by adminVaheguru ji ki fatheh!
September was an interesting and challenging month for Canadian and American Sikhs. We celebrated the prakash divas of Guru Granth Sahib ji in the beginning of the month, but we must evaluate our dedication and commitment to Maharaj in light of the events that took place after the Prakash Divas. Are we really dedicated, and are we really showing respect to Maharaj? In New Orleans, after Hurricane Katrina, four new suroops of Guru Granth Sahib ji had been desecrated by the floods, and the agan-bhet seva of the suroops had to be done. Later in the month, a mentally insane individual in Toronto ripped the suroop of Guru Granth Sahib ji and threw the angs in a park during the rain, where it was later discovered. Meanwhile, in India, disrespect of Guru Granth Sahib Ji happens everyday by enemies of the panth in the RSS, Ashutosh cult, Noormahalia cult, and Narakdhari cult. It is a serious concern that our puran parthakh satguru is being disrespected on such a mass scale, the Sikhs must stand up and stand together against this assault. Thankfully, later in September the sevadars of Khalsa Alliance and Waheguroo! Network decided to take matters into their own hands, and are now forming the “Respect for Guru Granth Sahib Ji” Campaign in North America, which was very successful in England. May Guru Maharaj bless these sevadars with the strength and power to do all that is needed to stand up against the enemies of truth.
Vaheguru ji ka khalsa,
Vaheguru ji ki fatheh!
