Interfaith Forum - November 26

Join us for an evening of interfaith awareness, cultural appreciation and unity where representatives from four religions will speak on the importance of the family and how the family as a unit can be strengthened as well as the family’s impact on our community.

Your attendance will inspire families and diverse cultural and religious groups that exist in the lower mainland to come together.

The intent of the evening is to create unity, appreciation, understanding and acceptance of each other as human beings, regardless of race or religious affiliation.

The Interfaith Forum will include representatives from the following faiths:

Sikh - Bikramjit Singh Sandhar
Serves at the Gurmat Centre Abbotsford
Islam - Ali Mihirig
Head of the Islamic Information Center of Vancouver
PHD in Applied Science (University of British Columbia)
Baptist - Ellis Andre
Head Pastor of the White Rock Baptist Church
Masters Degree of Religious Studies (University of Cape Town)
Mormonism - Richard Garside
Once a Director in the LDS Church Education System
Abbotsford Stake Patriarch

Each speaker will be allowed 25 minutes to present on the following:

  • What role does your religion play in strengthening the family?
  • What role does the family play in strengthening the community?
  • What principals taught help strengthen the family and community?
  • What is the greatest threat to the family?
