Beyond Squamish: Women & Culture
September 16th, 2005 by adminAll women are invited to attend the Howe Sound Womens Centre Societys annual general meeting on Wednesday (Sept. 21) at the Squamish Public Library. It begins with a potluck dinner at 5 p.m., followed by the AGM at 6:30 p.m. and guest speakers at 7:30 p.m. The theme is Beyond Squamish: Women & Culture. The moderator, Theodora Carroll, is the author of Women, Religion & Development. Guest speakers include Zia Afsar on Sharia law, Nina Biln on Sikh and Hindu religions and Carol Harry will speak on First Nations customs and spirituality.
