An Indo-Canadian victim’s parents appeal for information
August 20th, 2005 by adminSource: www.voiceonline.com
His mother wept inconsolably and it was left to the victim’s brother-in-law, VISHWA SHARMA, to appeal to the TV audience for information in regard to the November 14, 2004 murder of AKLESH ANUJ CHAUDARY, 19, at Newton Athletic Park in Surrey. The family emigrated from Fiji our years ago. Surrey RCMP announced this week that the other shooting victim had recovered from his injuries, but, as expected in order to maintain the integrity of the ongoing investigation, they refused to comment any further on the progress, if any, they had made in the case and exactly what they were looking for. But anyone who has any information would know what they have to tell the cops and they should. Surrey RCMP Constable MARINA WILKS said: “The investigation continues and police know that there are people that have more information. We are appealing for those people to come forward Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the IHIT (Integrated Homicide Investigation Team) Tip Line at 1-877-543-9217 or, if you wish to remain anonymous, call CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
Last year, reporting on this incident, The VOICE wrote: “A 24-year-old male remained in intensive care at a local hospital for injuries received during the same incident. Police say the motive for the attack remains unclear, but they now believe that the violence was not random and may be associated to known Indo-Canadian gangs. The investigation remains very active with nine full time homicide investigators working on the case. Police have encountered uncooperative witnesses.”
At the time, I also bluntly pointed out: “Ah, let me tell the cops and their political bosses once again that disbanding the Indo-Canadian Joint Task Force was a bad step and who knows that this murder might never have taken place if that force had remained intact. The new task force has yet to be fully formed and our readers can be sure that we will be watching that very aggressively in the coming months to ensure that the Liberal government doesn’t end up making a fool of the Indo-Canadian community.”
I also want to point out to Indo-Canadian families that I your kids themselves are not gang members but they are associating with them, then they are as likely to get killed as the gangsters themselves. That is what is believed to have happened last May when DEAN MOHAMED ELSHAMY of Surrey was gunned down while sitting in an Audi sedan car in a parking lot at the Mac’s Convenience Store located at 72nd and Scott Road in Surrey in the early hours of May 13. A witness told a local newspaper that he saw shots fired from a gold Pathfinder at the Audi in the parking lot. The Pathfinder then made a U-turn and an Indo-Canadian man came out of the store and started shooting at it with a handgun. He then went up to the Audi before walking away. Police believe that SANDIP SINGH DUHRE was the man the killers were after. But the man who got killed was his friend.
